This specific canvas fabric has been woven with two yarns together in the warp and a single yarn in the weft. The word ‘duck’ derives from the Dutch word ‘doek’ (meaning: cloth) and has a history older than blue jeans. Our 9 oz. selvedge duck canvas is light in weight, but strong, and therefore suitable for all-year wear. It has been woven on a shuttle loom with a wider reach, creating a wider-than-normal selvedge fabric.
